A new U.S. pipeline going through the mid-west called the Keystone pipeline is being built by a Canadian company (they won the contract) that is using steel from India.
Steel is being shipped nearly 9,000 miles for the project. Several U.S. steel plants in the region have closed over the past year. U.S. / India trade agreements give Indian products an advantage. Plus, the Indian government pays subsidies to it’s steel companies which is against U.S. / India trade deals. Of course, the Obama administration looked the other way and allowed the steel from India.
More dependence upon foreign nations & foreign companies.
