This ‘urgent’ bill would make it illegal to sell fake urine for the purpose of falsifying a drug test. According to the bill’s sponsor, Sen. Doug Jackson (D-Dickson), people trying to pass job-imposed drug tests are trying to “beat the system” and his anti-fake urine law would eliminate this “threat to public safety.”

We better nip this in the bud before it starts an epidemic of fake body fluid commerce.
Thank you, kc. And his insurance provider tells him to because the insurance provider mandates it or because the feds mandate it? I’d like to know that pesky detail… If a private company wants to do it, have at it. If the feds mandate it, this would be another in a long list of examples of the feds stepping over their enumerated powers line. We are working on electing a governor in KY — as are other states — who will stop the feds at the border. God help us if we can’t.
Saratica– the answer to your question is simple. “because his insurance provider tells him to” I admire your ideals, however, when you are an employer you will be required to provide workers compensation insurance to your employees. Unless you agree to drug testing, this will be more costly and possibly even impossible.
And why exactly does an employer care what his adult employee does on his off hours? This will be the sign in my window when I’m an employer: “What you do on your own time is none of my business, as long as it does not affect your work here.”
Senators are always doing stupid shit trying to look busy. Jackson needs to be voted out so he can get a real job.
