Some readers of this blog may be aware to some degree the the three word title of this post. However, most are not, so today I am going to take a moment to introduce you to something that is not being talked too much about by our government or our media, but that you need to know about.

First the term Sustainable Development was devised to make something very bad sound very good by the international political elites at the UN as well as within our own government. The “definition” of Sustainable Development is this:

“Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”

Now that does not sound so bad on the surface, but think about it for a moment. How does one propose to implement this policy world wide and what does it mean for every individual citizen. Below is a Venn diagram of the general idea.So basically they will have to control the environment, the economy, and our society as a whole in order for it to be sustainable, because apparently we have not sustained ourselves thus far. They want to promote Social “Equality”, “Stimulate” the Economy, and “Protect” the Environment in order to create this sustainability. Like I said it sounds nice, but ultimately it means your life has to be controlled in order to make this happen.

Now in order to do this they must have a plan, and that plan is called Agenda 21. This plan was signed and agreed to by 179 nations at the U.N. Conference on Environment and Development held in Rio de Janerio in 1992; the U.S. was a signer of this agreement. This is a 300 page document with 40 chapters addressing virtually ever facet of Human life in order to achieve this Sustainability.

Want to see something scary? Here is a picture of how they hope to make the landmass that is the United States more Sustainable Environmentally:

Now in order to do this on a macro scale it cannot all come from the “top”, but from the “bottom” as well. Back in 2000 our own state of Kentucky tried implementing Smart Growth through legislation, but it was defeated due to the fine folks at Take Back Kentucky. However, the powers that be are relentless, they went even smaller which is where ICLEI comes in. ICLEI stands for The ‘International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives.’ This is the organization that comes in at the local level of government and infects your community with this propaganda and helps enact it. In fact there are several communities across Kentucky that are doing this, but only a few are officially associated with ICLEI. In the past Louisville and Owensboro were associated with it, however, at this point I do not know why they are not officially listed. The ones that are, are Lexington, Frankfort and Berea. However, just because they are not listed does not mean your local government is not initiating these polices or already has them. One such community is Shelby County, there they have instituted a land-use plan. This land use plan was instituted by current County Judge Executive Rob Rothenburger (on the link look at the bullet points of issues he is proud of) who also happens to be Rep. Jamie Comer’s opponent in the Republican Primary for Agricultural Commissioner.

Now I know this is a lot to take in and people often ask after something like this, “how can I do anything?” or “what do I do?” Well do what the TEA Party is doing, getting informed and involved in the process. We are doing this on a Federal and State level, but we are neglecting our local communities. This is not easy to keep up with but if we are to ensure that our Commonwealth as a well as our Republic Sustains Freedom we must. This will take time and patience as those responsible did not just do this to us over night. It is not an impossible task as there are reports of citizens booting these people and their programs out of their communities such as Carrol County Maryland.

Some places you can go to get informed about issues such as Sustainable Development are:
