Republican Party Chairman Steve Robertson has threatened Gubernatorial candidate Phil Moffett and State Auditor candidate John Kemper for signing a petition to allow Libertarian Ken Moellman to run for State Treasurer. See the “two” party system of Republicans and Democrats don’t need 5,000 signatures to run but third party and independents do. Even though Moffett and Kemper later removed their signatures at the request of the party or face removal that seems to not be enough. Free and Equal, an organization that promotes ballot access is now reporting that the Chairman Steve Robertson wants Moffett and Kemper removed from the ballot if they win the primary, thus giving the victory to the runner ups. This shows us two things, the party is willing to resort to legal trickery to win an election if they lose, and two that they are worried.
Check the story out here.
Did anyone see Phil “I love Pills” Moffett lie? He ran half of his campaign on nullifying the DEA and FDA. He is willing to nullify these agencies just so he can grow hemp plants. He could care less about our meth problem. All he wants to do is grow hemp and hang out with headshop owners. This guy is a joke.
I would consider removing Robertson from his position.
Also curious how making the statement i.e. threat to do everything in his power to make sure Moffett and Harmon don’t win the general election if the beat Williams in the primary helping party unity hmmm?….
First of all if they should be removed after the fact if they win then should they not be removed now? Secondly if you read the article you would know it is a threat to remove them from the ballot. The word threat has more than just a physical connotation to it.
saying that “it is not helpful to party unity” is not the same thing as threatening is it? show us where robertson ever threatened any GOP candidate?
They both knew the bi-laws and they both broke them. If that’s legal “trickery” than I am going to go ahead and judge critical thinking skills here…
