Friday night, October 21, 2011, Quail Hollow Farm, a Nevada CSA with devoted customers and interns, was having a dinner party: the Farm to Fork First Annual Dinner Party, in fact. Food — much of it from the farm and none of it from supermarkets — was being prepared, guests were arriving, all was good until … until a state Health Inspector showed up.

What happened next (and what is continuing to happen) is hard to stomach.

Twenty years ago, it would have been hard to believe this could happen in America. Not now. Especially now that we’ve read too many of stories just like this and seen the movie Farmageddon*. It is happening in America. Far too frequently.

Raids like this are why came to be.
